We are in
YESILUZUMLU village. 500 meters above sea level,
Yesiluzumlu lies in a cool valley under the ancient Lycian
site of CADIANDA and is surrounded by thick pine forests
fed by mountain streams tumbling down the rugged
hillsides.
This is an ideal location for someone who wants the
enchantment of rural life but also the opportunity to
visit the pretty harbour town of Fethiye and Calıs Beach,
just 20 minutes drive away; with Oludeniz and Dalaman
airport also within easy reach. Access to the main resorts
is easy, by car, dolmus or taxi. Journey time to/from
Fethiye is approx. 20 minutes by car in addition to a
regular bus service.

UZUMLU (4 kms from Dikencik)
Step back in time! A beautiful
and authentic Turkish mountain village, full of character
and charm, famous for its Ottoman style stone cottages. As
it’s name infers you will see grapevines scattered around
all parts of the village and will find the locals will be
happy to share their products with you.

Nature and
Trekking: |
FIRE WATCH TOWER
The tower is on the highest
point of Geyran mountain. You can see Dikencik Houses from
the tower. There is an incredible view where you can see
the Fethiye location from every directions; Fethiye and
Gocek harbour , Calis beach, Patara beach, Fethiye and
Kemer City Center. If you are lucky enough to have a good
weather with no humidity, Rhodos can also be seen .It’s
possible to reach the tower by a car suitable for land
roads. It’s a good location to take perfect panoramic
photos of Fethiye area from the tower. You will also meet
warm welcome from fire watchers and most probably
traditional Turkish welcome tea will be offered to you.
Its also possible to walk to the tower. It will take 1 or
2 hours according to your performance. Paragliding groups
often visit the area.
GREEN VALLEY(app.20 kms from Dikencik)
Nature so beautiful, so
inviting...a trekking through the river in icecold fast
streaming water, clamber over rocks and behind every corner
in the canyon, troutfish with chips and salad and the time
for serious relaxation in one of the hammocks.
MUSHROOM HUNTING
Number of the species of edible
species are available in and around the land during October
to March. Enjoy hunting and cooking. Summer is not the
season for this wonderful experience.
TREKKING
The land is surrounded by a
dense pine forest . The forest has spectular views with
easily crossable walking routes. One can have the chance to
visit a very small village district with 4 houses and can
see the natural way of living of a Turkish shepherd family
in maximum half an hour walking through undiscovered
terrain.
SEA
Dikencik is an ideal location
for someone who wants the enchantment of rural life but also
the opportunity to visit the pretty harbour town of Fethiye
and Calıs Beach, just 20 minutes drive away; with Oludeniz
also within easy reach. Oludeniz (Blue Lagoon), referred as
"The Eden bestowed by God to World" according to Tourism
authorities, is a tourism center that is cost to world with
its reputation exceeding country. Oludeniz with very green
pine forests reached to shores, tepid sea and long beaches
in which all tones of green, blue and violet color can be
seen, is a wonder of the World.

Attractions in the Village: |

OPEN MARKET: Every week on Friday there is local market in
Uzumlu village for either vegetables, clothes, staffs for
home and more... Near the Mosque.
PIDE SALON: Two salons are ideal places to taste Turkish
pizza with different tastes like mince meat, Turkish
sausage called Sucuk, cheese, meat cut in small chunks,
pastrami. Enjoy the hospitality of the locals.
BARBEQUE EXCURSION SPOTS: There are many small dining
centers where you can enjoy Turkish barbeque cooking in
rural areas. A good experience to see the amazing
traditional life style and local people with Raki. You can
also taste local wines.
TURKISH TEA HOUSES: Three tea houses offer Turkish tea,
herbal teas and Turkish coffee. Local people visit those
houses to meet with their friends and to share their daily
life experiences with each other.
WINE HOUSE: A restorated old Uzumlu village house where
can taste local wine, grape-juice, vinegar, olives, olive
oil, tobacco, fig and fig products and local foods.
DASTAR SHOPS: Charm of a traditional woven style still is
seen in most of the houses. On looms found in most homes,
a local pure cotton material , Dastar is woven by the
village women. Table clothes & curtains are among the
finished products available.
